6. Use paid advertising

For sure, with all the social media channels you can grow a business organically, but to really take your business to the next level advertising on platforms like Google, Facebook and YouTube can really accelerate your growth.

Google will attract 'in market buyers' that are looking for your product right now through their search engine. Whereas platforms like Facebook and Instagram are great for driving brand awareness for your product or service. Just remember, advertising on social media, while cheaper, will generally bring lower quality traffic initially as people need to get to know your brand before buying.

7. Local PR

PR or public relations can work amazing for local businesses. By adopting local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and aligning your business with a good cause you can create some positive buzz around your business and gain local PR in newspapers and online groups.

8. Direct mail campaigns

Don't neglect direct mail in your local marketing mix. With inboxes swelling from the weight of email a great way to get attention is to use local, targeted direct mail. You can use the services of a door to door leaflet delivery company and target areas where your target audience will be.
